Computing Community Consortium Blog

The goal of the Computing Community Consortium (CCC) is to catalyze the computing research community to debate longer range, more audacious research challenges; to build consensus around research visions; to evolve the most promising visions toward clearly defined initiatives; and to work with the funding organizations to move challenges and visions toward funding initiatives. The purpose of this blog is to provide a more immediate, online mechanism for dissemination of visioning concepts and community discussion/debate about them.

Global City Teams Challenge Expo- June 13-14, 2016

The 2016 Global City Teams Challenge (GCTC) Expo will take place in Austin, TX at the Austin Convention Center June 13-14, 2016. The Expo will showcase GCTC Action Clusters and will feature speakers and panelists on a wide range of smart city topics. The two-day event will include an exhibition space in which trade-show style booths will be made available to 2016 GCTC Action Clusters. Register Now for the Global City Teams Challenge Tech Jam

The registration for the Global City Teams Challenge Tech Jam (GCTC) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) campus in Gaithersburg, MD on March 22-23, 2016 is now open. The Tech Jam will provide opportunities for existing Action Clusters to present their project plans, discuss project measurements, and identify additional Action Cluster partners. It is also an opportunity for interested parties to create new Action Clusters. The first day of the Tech Jam will feature presentations by invited GCTC partners and smart city leaders, followed by the presentations from registered Action Clusters (i.e. GCTC teams). Global City Teams Challenge Tech Jam March 22-23!

The Global City Teams Challenge Tech Jam date has been set! It will take place at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) campus in Gaithersburg, MD on March 22-23, 2016. The Tech Jam will provide opportunities for existing Action Clusters to present their project plans, discuss project measurements, and identify additional Action Cluster partners. NIST is also establishing an international technical public working group to help develop an “IoT-Enabled Smart City Framework” that will identify pivotal points of interoperability across the many existing and deployed architectures.
