Computing Community Consortium Blog

The goal of the Computing Community Consortium (CCC) is to catalyze the computing research community to debate longer range, more audacious research challenges; to build consensus around research visions; to evolve the most promising visions toward clearly defined initiatives; and to work with the funding organizations to move challenges and visions toward funding initiatives. The purpose of this blog is to provide a more immediate, online mechanism for dissemination of visioning concepts and community discussion/debate about them.

Exploratory Advanced Research Program 2018 Broad Agency Announcement

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) issued a Presolicitation Notice for its 2018 Exploratory Advanced Research Program’s Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) with an anticipated posting date soon. Through the issuance of this BAA, FHWA anticipates sponsoring research addressing four topics: (1) Mobil Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs); (2) Video Analytics; (3) Artificial Realistic Data and (4) Supplementary or Alternative Materials for Highway Pavements and Structures. All responsible sources capable of satisfying the U.S. Government’s needs may submit proposals for evaluation. The presolicitation announcement is posted on the FedBizOpps Web Site here. RFI on Integration of Automated Driving Systems (ADS) into the Highway Transportation System

The US Department of Transportation Federal Highway Transportation System has released a Request for Information on Integration of Automated Driving Systems (ADS) into the Highway Transportation System. Responses are due February 24th, 2018.  Summary: Automated Driving Systems (ADS) are increasling being tested and introduced onto the public roadways. Join the Federal Highway Administration for the first in a series of webinars on Tuesday April 5th from 1:00PM-2:30PM (ET) on their program SHRP 2 Naturalistic Driving Study (NDS) Pooled Fund, which will conduct ground breaking research in the areas of Highway Safety, Operations, Planning, and Safety. This first webinar will provide an overview of the data and discussion of the Pooled Fund.
