Computing Community Consortium Blog

The goal of the Computing Community Consortium (CCC) is to catalyze the computing research community to debate longer range, more audacious research challenges; to build consensus around research visions; to evolve the most promising visions toward clearly defined initiatives; and to work with the funding organizations to move challenges and visions toward funding initiatives. The purpose of this blog is to provide a more immediate, online mechanism for dissemination of visioning concepts and community discussion/debate about them.

South Big Data Hub DataStart Program

The South Big Data Hub links talented students with tech startups through a DataStart program, which provides real-world experiences for students while helping entrepreneurial companies. Graduate students from six universities in the southern U.S. will spend the summer working on data challenges important to the success of new and growing technology companies thanks to a new program called the Southern Startup Internship Program in Data Science (DataStart). CCC Announces Industry-Academic Program with the Big Data Regional Hubs

As a follow-up to the CCC/CRA Industry Academic Survey, conducted in spring of 2015 and the CCC Industry Roundtable Discussion held on July 24, 2015, the CCC is sponsoring a program on Industry-Academic Collaboration. The goal of this program is to catalyze and foster partnerships between industry and academic research by creating mechanisms for early career researchers in academia and industry representatives to interact and explore ways to work together. Northeast Big Data Hub – Call for Proposals

The Computing Community Consortium (CCC) has launched a program on Industry-Academic Collaboration through the Big Data Regional Hubs. The Northeast Hub, coordinated by Columbia University, is pleased to issue a call for proposals for their two summer 2016 programs. The Young Innovator Internships will provide an opportunity for early career researchers to collaborate with small businesses, government agencies, and NGOs, using data science approaches to solve substantial challenges. The Knowledge Exchange is a two-part program consisting of a Lecture Series and a Visiting Scholar Exchange. South Big Data Hub Summer 2016 Opportunities

The Computing Community Consortium (CCC) has launched a program on Industry-Academic Collaboration through the Big Data Regional Hubs. The South Hub, which is coordinated by Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) and the University of North Carolina (UNC), has announced their two summer 2016 programs. The DataStart Program provides an opportunity for graduate students to intern with data-related startups and PEPI (The Program to Empower Partnerships with Industry) is an exchange program for early-career faculty.
