Computing Community Consortium Blog

The goal of the Computing Community Consortium (CCC) is to catalyze the computing research community to debate longer range, more audacious research challenges; to build consensus around research visions; to evolve the most promising visions toward clearly defined initiatives; and to work with the funding organizations to move challenges and visions toward funding initiatives. The purpose of this blog is to provide a more immediate, online mechanism for dissemination of visioning concepts and community discussion/debate about them.

Global City Teams Challenge (GCTC) Community Updates

The registration of 2017 Global City Teams Challenge Expo (GCTC) is now open. The Expo will take place at Walter E. Washington Convention Center on August 28-29, 2017 in Washington, DC. It will bring together over 100 cities and communities around the world in partnership with more than 300 companies, universities, non-profits, and federal government agencies to share and exhibit their smart city projects and the impacts to their communities.

The Expo will include:

  • Keynotes from senior federal and local government leaders and industry stakeholders.
  • Announcements of SuperClusters blueprints and playbooks to help cities and communities to jumpstart planning and deployment of best practices.
  • Registered action clusters will be offered an exhibit space and a speaking opportunity free of charge (pending availability). Each action cluster should have a municipal government partner and technology innovators to demonstrate the benefits of the smart city solutions.
