The National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) announced that it will hold a one-day CAREER proposal writing workshop March 31, 2014 in Arlington, VA. The goal of this workshop is to enable junior CAREER-eligible faculty to prepare competitive proposals for the NSF CAREER program. Faculty members will have the opportunity to improve their skills in proposal writing, experience mock panel reviews, and interact with NSF program directors from the CISE divisions (ACI, CCF, CNS, and IIS), as well as with recent NSF CAREER awardees. The goal of the Computing Community Consortium (CCC) is to catalyze the computing research community to debate longer range, more audacious research challenges; to build consensus around research visions; to evolve the most promising visions toward clearly defined initiatives; and to work with the funding organizations to move challenges and visions toward funding initiatives. The purpose of this blog is to provide a more immediate, online mechanism for dissemination of visioning concepts and community discussion/debate about them.
