The White House is currently accepting applications for the second round of the Presidential Innovation Fellows (PIF) program. The program pairs top innovators from the private sector, non-profits and academia with top innovators in government to collaborate during six-to-12 month “tours-of-duty” that aim to save lives, save taxpayer money and fuel job creation. Applications will be accepted through March 17, 2013. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) expects to host three of the nine new Presidential Innovation Fellow Projects. The goal of the Computing Community Consortium (CCC) is to catalyze the computing research community to debate longer range, more audacious research challenges; to build consensus around research visions; to evolve the most promising visions toward clearly defined initiatives; and to work with the funding organizations to move challenges and visions toward funding initiatives. The purpose of this blog is to provide a more immediate, online mechanism for dissemination of visioning concepts and community discussion/debate about them.
